Keeping a record of a record

As I've been looking through my Grandma's genealogy records. I can't tell you enough how I wished she kept a journal of what she was researching, who she talked to, where she left off and who she wanted to find or her brickwalls...just so many things come into my mind when I look through her records.
I've decided that as I go through and compile my genealogy records. I see the importance of keeping a genealogy record journal. Write down what you researched, questions you have or who you talked to. So that if anything happens to you and the records fall into a family member they know exactly where you left off and can continue on.
Genealogy records are who we are.
