Ship manifest with my great grandfather Opapo Fonoemoana. Also on this manifest is Line Fonoemoana (Opapo's daughter in-law) and Salafai Tuia (My grand aunt). Exciting find for me!!
One day grandma began to share with me stories of her experiences in genealogy research and I became inspired to start my own family history. Samoan Genealogy Group was created to collaborate with others stories, experiences, resources and more that help in Samoan genealogy research.

View Rootstech 2013 Syllabus Online
Want a syllabus of Rootstech sessions?
A few days ago I was looking through which classes I'd like to attend I noticed that a syllabus for one class I was curious about was online to view in PDF or DOC. Other classes I viewed had syllabuses online as well.
Awesome!! What a great way to have heads up on each session!
Here is how I found them:
Click on Rootstech.org
In orange, you will see the PDF and DOC links for the syllabus. Awesome!! So far, all the sessions I was interested in did have a syllabus.

Rootstech 2013 Hype!!
I attended Rootstech last year for the first time and had a great experience If ever you wanted to boost the spirit of genealogy and technology! Rootstech is the place to be. It was awesome to be in an environment with fellow genealogists and talk with people who are totally excited about talking genealogy.
Last year though I didn't bump into any polys (Polynesians) I am hoping this year that some polys will be in attendance.
What is Rootstech? RootsTech is an opportunity unlike any other to discover the latest family history tools and techniques, connect with experts to help you in your research, and be inspired in the pursuit of your ancestors. It is a conference with a unique emphasis on helping individuals learn and use the latest technology to get started or accelerate their efforts to find, organize, preserve and share their family’s connections and history. Attendees will learn key skills from hands-on workshops and interactive presentations at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced level.

FamilyTree is live!!!
Totally stocked as I read other genealogy blogs this morning talking about how FamilySearch now has FamilyTree live.
Click on "Family Tree" and the link will bring you to a Sign-In page.
Decide which kind of account you'd like to create.
FamilyTree has awesome features like adding stories, photos and more. Here's a user guide from Elder Moons site: http://familysearchtraining.com/ and FamilySearch FamilyTree Reference Guide (4 Mar 2013)
Good to look these over.
